12. Monitoring with Azure Monitor and Application Insights

- Azure Monitor — metrics and logs platform; Log Analytics workspace stores logs queried with KQL; alerts (metric, log, activity log) → action groups (email, SMS, Teams, webhooks, Functions).
- Application Insights — APM for apps: requests, dependencies (SQL/HTTP), exceptions, traces, live metrics, application map, availability tests, distributed tracing. In .NET use the Azure Monitor OpenTelemetry Distro (
builder.Services.AddOpenTelemetry().UseAzureMonitor()).
