SSISDB catalog workflow:

  1. Create the catalog (SSMS → Integration Services Catalogs → Create Catalog; needs CLR enabled and a password for the encryption key).
  2. Create a folder, deploy the .ispac (Deployment Wizard, SSMS, ISDeploymentWizard.exe, Azure DevOps task).
  3. Create environments (DEV/QA/PROD) with variables (server name, file paths; sensitive values encrypted).
  4. Add an environment reference to the project and map parameters to environment variables.
  5. Execute via SSMS, catalog.create_execution + catalog.start_execution stored procedures, or a SQL Agent job step (type SQL Server Integration Services Package, select environment).

EXEC SSISDB.catalog.start_execution @exec_id;
