Basic★ Must knowLesson 1 of 9

For experienced .NET developers (2–10 years), expect:

  1. Self-introduction and current project — architecture, your role, technologies, team size, client, challenges. Prepare a whiteboard-level diagram.
  2. C# and OOP — four pillars, abstract class vs interface, overloading vs overriding, ref/out, string vs StringBuilder, value vs reference types, IEnumerable vs IQueryable, async/await, exception handling, collections, delegates/events.
  3. ASP.NET Core / MVC / Web API — middleware, DI lifetimes, filters, routing, authentication (JWT), model binding/validation, IActionResult vs ActionResult<T>, REST verbs and status codes.
  4. Entity Framework / ADO.NET — code-first vs DB-first, migrations, loading strategies, AsNoTracking, N+1, transactions; ADO.NET objects.
  5. SQL Server — joins, second-highest salary, duplicates, CTE, window functions, stored procedure vs function, indexes, DELETE vs TRUNCATE, normalisation, performance.
  6. Frontend basics if full-stack — JavaScript, Angular/React fundamentals.
  7. Azure/DevOps basics — App Service, Functions, Key Vault, CI/CD pipelines, Git.
  8. Coding — simple programs (string reverse, palindrome, duplicates, Fibonacci, LINQ queries), sometimes on a shared editor or notepad.
  9. Client-facing/scenario questions — handling production issues, changing requirements, working in shifts, communicating delays.
  10. HR — notice period, relocation, salary, bond (for some fresher roles).
