9. Questions to ask the interviewer

Always ask 2–3. Good ones:

• "What does success look like in this role in the first 90 days?"
• "What are the biggest challenges the team is facing right now?"
• "How is the team structured, and who would I work with most?"
• "How do you handle code reviews, testing and deployments?"
• "What do you like most about working here?"
• "How are performance reviews and promotions handled?"
• "What are the next steps in the process?"

Avoid asking first about leave, perks or "How soon can I get promoted?" — and never say "No questions".
